Kite surfing: Llangenith Wind Direction: WSW Wind Stength: 13-18knts Surf / Sea State: Big swell Air Temperature: cool Sea Temperature: cold Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered:
What an amazing day. Met up with chris previous night and slept over on the
gower. Awoke to find 15 knts and 6-8 foot swell. Flew the new 8m and
thought it was quite responsive and super fast, but the swell was so big i
ended up riding the 11m.
Had 3 sessions...first sesh was quite diificult to get out to the back and
just all felt really heavy and hardwork, think it was the currents.
The second session i made it out to the back and my GAAAAD, the sets where
really big. This is most definitely the biggest swell i have seen /ridden
in the UK..I managed to drop into some mountains and one in particular i'd
happily say was well over 10foot+. The wind direction wasn't good for
waveriding & on one beast my kite stalled on a bottom turn...got munched
kite went down lost board etc. after a serious dunking and not getting
wrapped up in the lines i relaunched and retrieved my board in solid 6+foot
waves..don't know how i survived quite frankly!!!!!!!!!!
arvo sesh with Will and chris was quite nice in flats..was aching from
morning sessions but still went fot it and landed every downloop krypt, but
kept on messing up the bar handling..Will landed a flat 3 and was really
stoked!
What a top day but the drive was way TOO FAR.
Absolutely SHATTERED today
